Here’s a little bit about our Glitz & Glam team…

Sandra Greene: Sandra is a highly competitive, talented hairdresser who has trained and worked at MOHH since 2007. She has a strong and loyal clientèle and takes personal responsibility for each of her clients. This year she won Guillaume Image of the Year and came 5th in the Global World Avant Garde Stylist of the Year. Sandra was also this years 1st runner up at the Alfaparf Fantastic Hairdresser of the Year which took place in Cork.

Vanessa Rusmane: A late comer to the industry Vanessa began her hairdressing career with MOHH just over two years ago. She very soon began to build her own column and is fast becoming a rising star within the industry with her incredible upstyling creations. Already a Junior Champion in Upsytling and an OMC World Best Stylist in Long Hair, her career is just beginning as she continues to push herself and embrace the hairdressing industry.

Teresa Molloy: Fresh from the stage at the Alternative Hair Show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Teresa was awarded 2nd place in the International Visionary Awards Final. Standing proud amongst the finest hairstylists the world has to offer she is fast building a name for herself in the industry. Unassuming and extremely talented Teresa has been with MOHH for almost 3 years. Having won numerous awards this year alone for her fantasy and upstyling skills Teresa is one of our most sought after stylist.

Glen Cullen: Glen is the newest member to join our team. Having trained in MOHH Academy Glen is already running a busy column with MOHH Salon. Recently winning the Alfaparf FANTASTIC Fantasy Stylist of the Year Glen is extremely creative and an amazing stylist sure to have a bright future ahead.

Sorcha O’Dowd: Sorcha is fast building up her portfolio as well as her experience. In undated with wedding bookings Sorcha’s career took the turn she’d been hoping for when she teamed up with Intercoiffure Ireland in early 2012. Working on fashion shows, presentations and photoshoots with high profile photographers such as Absolute Studios and Ronnie Norton we can only expect great things from Sorcha in the future. She is our inhouse make-up artist and is an extremely popular asset at MOHH and we are delighted to be working with her so closely in the run up to Christmas.

So now, after reading a little about our fabulous stylists and make-up artist, we can’t think of a better or more capable team to look after you this Christmas.

‘Sherlock Holmes’ takes to the streets of Temple Bar, Dublin

Claire Garvey, an award winning and well established fashion designer from Dublin recently took to the streets of Temple Bar with her latest designs. Wild and wonderfully creative, we were, to say the least over the moon and extremely delighted when Claire asked us to take part in the show. A huge opportunity for us to showcase our fantasy work Maeve, Sandra & Teresa, along with Glen and Louise prepared for the challenge of styling 6 models. Out of this world and flamboyant creations helped set the theme, ‘Sherlock Holmes’ that brought Cow’s Lane in Temple Bar to a stand still as the models paraded down the cobbled streets. Have a look at the video, mastered by the very talented Berna Mtz. Check out Gran Via Films for more of Berna’s work.

Sparkling futures ahead…

It’s hard to believe that another 14 months has passed us by at MOHH Academy and it only means one thing…sad goodbyes to another group of amazing students.

September 2012 welcomed a brand new group of students form all parts of the country. Dublin was well represented by the fab Louise. Flying the flag for Offaly we had the brilliant Glen and Naimh. The lovely Danielle from the great county of Galway. Roscommon produced hidden gems in the extremely talented Brendan and Orfhlaith and not forgetting the glamorous Caoimhe from our very own county of Westmeath. From the moment they walked through the door they immediately built up a fantastic rapport with their clients and we know there are going to be a lot of disappointed people walking through our doors over the next few weeks.

Here is what they had to say about their experience…

Louise Carroll

Loved every minute of it. It was hard work but very rewarding. The course was jam packed, I learned so much is a short space of time. And I loved working with everyone in my class and the tutors are top notch. Thanks for everything, Louise x

Glen Cullen

Training at MOHH has been amazing since day one. Learning all the basic skills and developing these skills working with great tutors and clients. For anyone thinking of starting a career in hairdressing and looking for an outlet for that creative streak they hold, I would recommend training at MOHH.

Danielle Tuohy

I found the course very action packed and hands on. I had a lot of opportunities and met a lot of people and got to travel and see more places. I enjoyed working with the other students and I leaned a lot from them and the members of staff here.

Niamh Mulrooney

I found the course very good and rewarding. It was extremely hands on  and we got to try out new techniques as we learned them. I had a great experience and have learned so much because the tutors are so good.

Brendan Hunt

Overall the course was one great experience. The opportunities I have received through this course have been exceptional. The competitions, shows, presentations and events  have all been amazing. Great course. Great tutors. Great experience

Orfhlaith Breathnach

Very good course. Excellent tutors. Enjoyed my time here.

Caoimhe Duncan

The course was brilliant, I learned so much about hairdressing and was involved in all the activities. The tutors were very hands on and helped so much. I loved every minute of the course and I would do it all over again.

They were a group that never turned down an opportunity to attend an event, show or presentation. Even travelling to London to the Alternative Hair show last October. They got involved in everything; external courses on a precious Sunday or Monday and they were an extremely competitive bunch, entering every competition that came their way. With this in mind we know that they will go far in their career and we would like to take this opportunity to wish them the very best in their future…which we know is going to be a very bright and sparkling one.

Wishing you loads of success

The team at MOHH x

MOHH Hairdressing

Our very own Sandra Greene came 1st Runner-up in The FANTASTIC Hairdresser Award (Business Award) at this years Alfaparf Fantastic Hairdresser Awards 2013 held at the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork. The atmosphere was electric as Brendan Courtney had the crowd eating from the palm of his hands.
Sandra loves to perform, loves to be on stage showcasing her talents but entering this competition was an opportunity for her to really evaluate her career to date. It’s a different aspect and made her look at where she wants to be in 5 years time, what makes her tick, keeps her motivated and above all what keeps her passion alive.

I feel that good client consultation is extremely important and I have developed a wonderful relationship with my client, which leads to great excitement and enthusiasm for the finished style. Performing on stage and at competitions is where I come alive and feel at home while developing my skills and being creative. Being involved with fashion and keeing with the latest trends, to me, keeps my passion alive.”

Sandra has been with MOHH since 2008 and runs an extremely busy column. To book an appointment with Sandra call 0906476166.

Galaxy or Turkish Delight…and no…we’re not talking about the chocolate bars

We were delighted to open Monday’s Irish Examiner (page 3 no less) and see our fantastic models Laura-Jane Morris and Rachel Morris photographed together at this years Alfaparf Fantastic Hairdresser Awards which took place in Cork last weekend. Rachel modelled Brendan Hunt‘s fantasy piece (left) “Turkish Delight” and Laura modelled Sandra Greene‘s fantasy creation “Galaxy”. Don’t they look fantastic?  Hours of hard work went into both pieces with Brendan designing and making his own dress to complete his look. Sandra’s look was completed with a beautiful gown by the fabulously talented Claire Garvey.
